Previously this event was known as TNA Hard Justice, but in 2010 TNA changed it's name to Hardcore Justice in honor of Extreme Championship Wrestling. The show was originally to feature Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn as the main event. However, the match was pulled after Lynn had to back out of the event due to a back injury he had at the time. The replacement main event was made to be Rob Van Dam vs. Sabu.
