Rob Van Dam Shows Interest In Joining All Elite Wrestling?

A fan recently made a request to All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan on Twitter, asking Khan to sign Rob Van Dam to AEW so that he could have a solid run there. Interestingly enough, RVD would end up liking that tweet, thereby indicating his own interest in working with Tony Khan.

Van Dam also had an interesting response to the possibility of one final pro wrestling run. We will have to wait and see if Tony Khan ends up making the 2022 Hardcore Hall of Fame inductee "All Elite"

Rob Van Dam had a very successful stint in the original ECW in the late 1990's and early 2000's before signing a deal with WWE in 2001 following the bankruptcy of ECW. He spent 6 years as an active performer and competed on both RAW and SmackDown brands over the years before he landed on the "rebirth" of ECW brand in 2006, having arguably his most successful run in the business when he won the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WWE WrestleMania 22 and went on to cash it in at ECW One Night Stand 2006 where he very famously ended John Cena's second WWE Championship reign. Unfortunately, Van Dam's reign as WWE Champion was cut short when he and fellow ECW alumnus Sabu were pulled over by police with marihuana found in their possession and he was stripped of the WWE and ECW World Championships not even a month after winning them. Van Dam never would recover the same push he was enjoying before that incident but regardless he managed to have several more stints with WWE in between stints in TNA/Impact Wrestling (where he once won their TNA World Heavyweight Championship in 2010).

Van Dam would return to WWE in 2021 to be inducted into that year's WWE Hall of Fame class. He most recently just appeared on this past Friday Night's WWE SmackDown on FOX during the WWE Draft Special where he named off a few names that were being drafted.
