Wrestler birthday(s): Johnny Swinger tuns 48 years old today. Swinger had previously before ECW had brief runs in WCW and WWF in 1995. He would leave WWF, again returning to WCW in '97 and stick around until 1999. Swinger only had a very brief stint in ECW, joining the promotion mid-way through 2000 (the last full year ECW was around). He remained with the company until it held it's final shows in January 2001. He would return again to WCW right as they were closing their doors and competed in the Crusierweight Tag Team Tournament in March 2001. When WCW was bought out by WWF, his contract wasn't one of the ones that was picked up. He would wrestle in Border City Wrestling in Canada until 2002 when he joined up with Jeff Jarrett's new promotion Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). His first run in TNA lasted 3 years and when his contract expired he would return to WWE, training at Ohio Valley Wrestling for a bit before being featured on Sunday Night Heat as a mainstay. In September '05 he was sent down to Deep South Wrestling (another developmental promotion owned by WWE much like OVW). He was released once more in June 2006 and would return to the indy scene, scouring the independent wrestling scene for over ten years from '06 to 2019. In 2019 Swinger would re-sign with TNA (now known as Impact Wrestling) and has been there ever since.
