Paul Heyman is the Special Counsel to the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns in WWE and never fails to praise "The Tribal Chief" at every given turn. In fact, Heyman went so far as to claim that he and Roman Reigns don't compare themselves to previous wrestlers.
When asked about comparisons between his partnership with Roman Reigns and legendary pairings such as Nick Bockwinkle and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, Paul Heyman provided his perspective. He emphasized the uniqueness of their dynamic and their contributions to WWE television since September 2020. Heyman highlighted their central role in major storylines leading into recent WrestleMania events, with Heyman serving as Reigns' "Special Counsel" to "The Tribal Chief".
In a recent interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Paul Heyman expressed his reluctance to be compared to other wrestling acts. Instead, he aims to establish himself and Roman Reigns as the standard bearer against which all others are measured. Heyman emphasized his focus on achieving greatness that surpasses that of previous acts.
“The only comparison I make to other acts is whether the greatness we seek puts us over and above the greatness they achieved,” said Heyman. “Instead of comparing, I prefer to strive to set the standard. In the end, that leaves everyone else comparing themselves to us.”
At WWE WrestleMania XL, Roman Reigns is set for an intense schdule, wrestling on consecutive nights. On Night One of WrestleMania 40, he'll join forces with The Rock to face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Then on Night Two of WrestleMania 40, Reigns will put his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line in a rematch against Cody Rhodes, renewing their rivalry from last year's WrestleMania 39 showdown that nearly saw Rhodes end Reigns' legendary streak.
