HOOK poses with the FTW Championship, moments after his huge win over Chris Jericho in the FTW Rules 'Last Chance' match at AEW's ALL IN: LONDON 2024 on August 25th, 2024. |
Yesterday, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) presented it's 2nd annual ALL IN event, which took place at London, England's iconic Wembley Stadium (the home of AEW ALL IN: LONDON 2023 and also WWF's SummerSlam 1992 Pay-Per-View).
During the course of the night, a certain someone's son happened to make history when he won his record-setting 3rd FTW Championship reign.
During the event, Taz's son HOOK, who made his professional wrestling debut in December 2021, won his record-setting 3rd FTW Championship when he defeated "The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho in an FTW Rules 'Last Chance' match, with the stipulation being that had HOOK failed to get the job done he wouldn't be eligible to compete for the title again (at least for as long as Jericho was champion).
However, that isn't an issue as the young rising star got the job done winning the FTW Championship for the 2nd time in the iconic stadium, having won the title also last year from "The Scapegoat" Jack Perry during last year's Zero Hour ALL IN: LONDON 2023 PPV Pre-Show.
Following his huge win, ECW Legend and AEW Color Commentator Taz celebrated with his son soaking in the adulation of the fans after his son's big moment. The night also saw Taz lock in the Tazmission on Jericho's henchman Bryan Keith in a moment that brought back memories of his battles in Philly in the late 1990s.
Other than HOOK, other stars who have held the title since it was reintroduced in 2020 in AEW include: "The Machine" Brian Cage (2020-2021) "Absolute" Ricky Starks (2021-2022) and "The Scapegoat" Jack Perry (2023) (formerly known as "Jungle Boy" of Jurassic Express), and most recently "The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho (2024), whom HOOK defeated yesterday to gain his record-setting 3rd FTW Championship!
