Wrestler Death(s): On this day in 2020, former ECW World Tag Team Champion Tracy Smothers passed away. Smothers, along with fellow Full Blooded Italians member Little Guido, won the ECW World Tag Team Championship in 1997, when they defeated The Gangstanators (New Jack and John Kronus) to win their only titles together. They held the titles until December 5th, 1997, when they were defeated for the titles by Doug Furnas and Phil LaFon. Smothers announced in December 2019 on his Facebook page that he had been diagnosed with lymphoma after visiting his doctor the month prior and had suffered a heart attack without realizing it. Despite this, he died from the illness at 4:30 AM on October 28th, 2020, at the age of 58 years old. A day before his passing, Smothers had posted that he was back in the hospital after having hernia surgery which aggravated his condition. Smothers was survived by his 3 sons, Tony Shook, Kyle Smothers and Austin Elliott, and his daughter, Jessie Belle McCoy, who wrestles under the name Jessie Belle. Many wrestlers paid tribute to Smothers following his death, including Jim Cornette, CM Punk, Adam "Edge" Copeland, Frankie Kazarian, Taz, Jeff Jarrett, Ricky Morton, Bobby Fulton and Tom Prichard. Smothers was a very well-like member of the ECW roster.
