Today in ECW History - February 14th:

Birthday(s): Tommy Dreamer (pictured, above) was born on this day in 1971. Dreamer was an integral part of the Original ECW, appearing in the promotion beginning in October 1993 where he made his debut at NWA-ECW Bloodfest. He would become one of the top stars in the company and one of the only ones who didn't ever jump ship to the WWF or WCW. Dreamer was in Heyman's close cabinet of people including Gabe Sapolsky and Buh Buh Ray Dudley who worked behind the scenes in other areas of the company besides wrestling for the company. Following his time in ECW, he would move on to the WWF and have a long career in the WWF/WWE, leaving finally by 2010. From there he would move on to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) where he also worked behind the scenes. Following his TNA run he would launch his own promotion, House of Hardcore, which ran over 40 shows between 2012-2019 before the COVID-19 Pandemic hurt the company by not being able to host events. Also, born on this day in 1972 was Mabel (also known as Viscera or Big Daddy V) who appeared for ECW in the late 90s, even becoming a member of the Full Blooded Italians at one point. He tragically passed away in 2014 due to heart failure.
