The former ECW World Television Champion "The Whole F'N Show" Rob Van Dam made his return to All Elite Wrestling's flagship program, AEW Dynamite, last night (January 31st, 2024). Van Dam was "Hangman" Adam Page's Dealer's Choice hand picked opponent to face Swerve Strickland. This was the main event of Dynamite, and came after "Hangman" had already defeated Toa Liona (a fellow member of Strickland's stable Mogul Embassy) earlier in the night. "Hangman" told Strickland that he must not be able to read because not only did the stipulation of "Dealer's Choice" say that they picked each others opponents but they pick the match type as well. "Hangman" Adam Page made the match a Hardcore Match at the last second.
Swerve Strickland would go on to defeat Van Dam in a match that went 15-minutes and showcased that Van Dam still could hang with the best of them in the ring.
